VISUAL TALES: Hi Mark, thanks for doing the shoot with Visual Tales recently. You are unlike what we thought you might be, quite down to earth, curious about the process, and professional. Since your dad is regarded as one of the SUPERMODEL of the 90s and 2000s, did he mentor you about navigating the modeling industry? What advice did he give you?
MARK VANDERLOO JR.: Thanks for the opportunity to do the shoot with Visual Tales recently. It was such a great experience working with you. My Dad has indeed mentored me on how to navigate the modeling industry. The best advice he gave me was to stay true to myself and remain grounded.

VT: Not every offspring of a public figure would want to follow in their parent's footsteps by getting into the same industry. They try to avoid it since they see how it is from a different point of view. What’s yours and what drew you to modeling, like your dad?
MV JR.: In my case, I was drawn to modeling because of my dad's influence and the allure of the industry. It felt like a natural path for me.

VT: You and your dad just recently walked the runway together at Pitti Uomo for designer Marine Serre. How did that come about and what was it like to be in Florence Italy?
MV JR.: This collaboration came about through mutual connections in the fashion industry, and it was an incredible experience to be in Florence, Italy, and share the runway with my dad.

VT: What’s your perspective on fashion and the modeling industry? Are there aspects you enjoy more than others?
MV JR.: I like that the Fashion Industry gives thousands of models a chance to travel the world!

VT: Models are often placed in a situation where you never quite know what you are getting yourself into (whether it is locations, scenarios or unexpected adventures) Are there any specific shoot that stands out in your memory?
MV JR.: I've had a great experience with every photographer I've had the pleasure to work with so far!  All of my shoots stand out in my memory as they are all different. They have all had all types of people and locations that have different energy. Some people like to take a very slow and chill shoot and other shoots are more fast-paced. One shoot that stands out is the Versace campaign because I shot it with my Dad.

VT: We heard that you loved creating music. Tell us about some of the music you have been creating.
MV JR.: Besides modeling, I have a passion for creating music. I love music because I love that you can create anything without limitations. I mostly like hip hop and I started producing rap and edm beats at 14. I am also learning how to play the piano and guitar.

VT: Who are some of your favorite music influences?
MV JR.: Some of my favorite musical influences include new underground artists or mainstream artists like xxxTentacion or Trippie Redd whose work has inspired my own musical journey.

VT: You have traveled quite a bit, is there a city or country you particularly enjoy the most? Describe a perfect day for Mark Vanderloo?
MV JR.: I've traveled extensively, and one city I particularly enjoy is LA. A perfect day for me in that city involves shopping with my friends and enjoying the colorful sky and relaxed vibe.

VT: Fashion—I am sure you have worn numerous outfits for shoots and shows. On a personal note, what’s your preferred personal style?
MV JR.: Regarding fashion, I've worn countless outfits for shoots and shows. Personally, I prefer a style like Rick Owen's and Balenciaga. I also like to make my own clothes to complement them.

VT: Personal care and well-being—As a professional, what’s your regimen to stay in shape and look great?
MV JR.: As a professional for Fashion Week my personal care and well-being regimen includes regular exercise (I love boxing), a balanced diet, and skincare routines to stay in shape and look my best. When it's not show season, I will indulge in my favorite food, American Pancakes with Maple Syrup!

VT: Is there a place that you love to escape to when you want some downtime to escape from the hustle and bustle?
MV JR.: When I need to escape from the hustle and bustle, I love to retreat to Ibiza as I spent my childhood there. I love the fresh food and the beautiful beach.

VT: This shoot features a lot of flowers. If you were to send a bouquet of flowers to your loved one, what’s your favorite?
MV JR.: My favorite flower is a rose because it smells and looks beautiful.

VT: What are your summer vacation plans?
MV JR.: For my summer vacation plans, I am looking forward to Ibiza so I can see all of my friends.
