Q&A with CDH ERREURS/BILLY CHOW
VISUAL TALES: Share with us the origins of the brand name and who is behind this brand?
CDH ERREURS: The brand began under the name of CHOW des HOMME (CDH). Later on, as several creative partners joined in, they transitioned the brand into a shorter form — CDH ERREURS.
ERREURS, the French word for “errors,” reflects the issues behind the brand. From social issues to the drama, criticism and judgment often seen in the fashion industry. Instead of avoiding them, these “errors” often become the starting point of inspiration for our collections each season.
The brand is still carried by BILLY CHOW. Like many in the industry, he carries a dual identity. While running CDH in 2024-2025, he also spent 15 months working as a Fashion Marketing Executive at JENN LEE, contributing to projects during London Fashion Week in SS25 & SS26. By now, he was appointed as Global Marketing Executive at Clarks Originals in early this year, continuing to expand his role between creative direction and global brand marketing in different brands.
VT: The title of the SS2026 collection is entitled THANKS FOR WATCHING. Tell us the thought process behind the collection.
CDH ERREURS: The SS2026 idea comes from the brand’s ongoing fascination with controversy and spectacle. The phrase carries a sense of sarcasm, echoing the way negative headlines circulate across fashion, politics, and public culture. As well-known athlete Carl Lewis once said, “Any press is good press. So keep on ragging me.”
We’re not particularly bothered by criticism or negative headlines. Instead, we treat them as part of the conversation. Reflecting this idea of this show where we take place on a sports court. The styling draws from athletes' pre- and post-game layering, interpreted through daily-wear. Sarcastic slogans appear across the garments, reinforcing the collection’s attitude — where, in the end, the spotlight still falls on the brand itself.
VT: The love of soccer is evident in your brand. Tell us about why you love this sport so much.
CDH ERREURS: Soccer & sports DNA are deeply embedded in the brand language. As Billy has been playing soccer since the age of 3 and previously competed professionally in the Taiwan National League Division 2.
For him, sports and street visual culture naturally resonate with each other. A good example was his FW2025 runway show, which took place on a football field. The show reflected the spirit of teamwork, competitiveness and the tension often seen on the pitch - elements that strongly influence the brand’s visual identity.
VT: Are there brands that CHD ERREURS look up to as inspiration?
CDH ERREURS: Yes, I often look up to figures like Guram Gvasalia, Ye (YZY), and Virgil Abloh (Off-White) — creatives who embrace controversy while shaping visual cultures that resonate strongly with younger generations, which also influences how we approach the brand’s imagery.
VT: Describe the perfect wearer for your brand. Who is this individual?
CDH ERREURS: The perfect wearer of the brand from the Gen-Z or Gen Alpha who naturally moves with culture and trends. We don’t see following trends as a negative thing — it simply reflects how younger generations engage with culture today.
In many ways, they share similar cultural references with the brand— whether in our show’s music track, visual culture, or street influence. Artists like Travis Scott, Drake or Don Toliver often reflect the kind of attitude and energy we resonate with, shaping the overall mood and cultural context behind our brand.
VT: What can we expect from SS2027 and the future for CDH ERREURS?
