AMPERS&ONE: Rising Through the K-Pop Ranks With Brotherhood and Sincerity

It all starts with trust. An unspoken promise made. 

That’s what the members of AMPERS&ONE say is their “secret sauce,” trusting in the years of training that sharpened their skills, and, more importantly, keeping that unspoken promise that they have each other’s back. 

It was that trust that allowed AMPERS&ONE to emerge onto the dimly lit stage at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater with quiet confidence. Seven figures cloaked in shadow strode forward as deafening screams ricocheted through the sold-out venue. Beneath flashing lights and engulfed in thunderous chants of their name, the rookie group stood poised and fearless. This is what gives them the edge over other K-pop groups vying for the limelight. 

However, this was only a glimpse of the dream they have been building together. Since debuting in 2023, KAMDEN, BRIAN, JIHO, SIYUN, KYRELL, MACKIAH, and SEUNGMO have steadily climbed the K-pop ranks from their first North American tour at Queens Theatre to commanding arena crowds while opening for P1Harmony at Prudential Center in 2025.

Each year, AMPERS&ONE reaches new heights, and the members credit their unshakable brotherhood for carrying them through the pressure and intensity of their rapid rise. That bond fuels the fire audiences feel onstage. Their very name reflects that connection, blending the symbol “&” meaning “and” with “ONE,” symbolizing the unity of you, me, and us becoming one.

SIYUN describes it as a promise the members continuously make to one another.

“When we opened for P1Harmony, we stayed to watch their stages,” SIYUN said. “I watched how they communicated with the crowd and trusted each other onstage. You have to make promises with your members like, ‘Over here we’ll do this,’ or ‘Over there we’ll do that.’ Watching them, they were completely locked in together.”

While AMPERS&ONE credits their senior FNC labelmates for teaching them confidence and stage presence, the group says their greatest strength was built long before stepping into the spotlight.

“We’ve been close since the beginning,” MACKIAH said, smiling toward the members beside him. “When we first met, it was like, ‘We’re going to live together and work together from now on.’ We became real friends, and that helps because we can be honest with each other offstage. Then when we get onstage, we lock in together.”

Even with members raised across the globe, MACKIAH believes their differences only strengthened their connection.

“It’s crazy that we’re all from different countries,” he said. “But I think that’s what makes us beautiful as a team. We share our cultures, our experiences, and our lives with each other. That helped us become close really fast.”

The group’s diversity is woven into its identity. KAMDEN and KYRELL were raised in the United States, BRIAN in Canada, MACKIAH in Australia, while JIHO, SIYUN, and SEUNGMO hail from South Korea. Despite their different backgrounds, the members say friendship remains the thread tying them together.

KYRELL, who frequently says “I’ve got your back” to the members, recalled a backstage moment that reminded him just how much they rely on one another.

“At one show, I made a small mistake onstage, and I was really down about it,” KYRELL said. “JIHO noticed right away and told me, ‘Clear your head. Finish the performance strong, and think about it later.’ Little things like that help so much. Having people you can lean on is the biggest part of being a team.”

Now approaching four years together, the confidence and artistry radiating from the members have evolved into a magnetic stage presence that sets AMPERS&ONE apart among K-pop’s newest generation. Their latest EP, Definition, and accompanying tour, Born to Define, reflect that growth. It tells their story in a sharper, bolder, and united fashion than ever before.

“For this comeback, we prepared a lot more together,” BRIAN said. “Before, we all had our own opinions, but this time we really worked things out as a team. I think that made the album stronger.”

The high-energy tracks from Definition became the backbone of the tour, with nearly the entire EP incorporated into the setlist. 

“It was really good timing with the album and the tour,” KAMDEN said. “These songs are perfect for performing live.”

KYRELL added that the album and tour became inseparable parts of the same vision. For the group, the concept behind “Born to Define” is also a love letter to their fanbase, ANDEAR. 

“Definition [EP] is basically the foundation of this tour,” he said. “We used the tour to promote the album, but the album also became a huge part of the tour itself. They work together.”

Their meteoric rise has already earned AMPERS&ONE nominations at the Hanteo Music Awards, MAMA Awards, and Golden Disc Awards. In 2026, the group also took home the Rising Star Award at the Korea First Brand Awards.

But accolades and sold-out stages only tell part of the story because AMPERS&ONE’s journey is ultimately one of perseverance. A Herculean climb fueled by trust, resilience, and a determination to define success on their own terms. Rather than following the traditional mold of a K-pop boy group, the seven members have steadily carved out their own lane, redefining what unity, sincerity, and brotherhood can look like onstage. That is why they are “Born to Define.” 

As the music thundered through the theater, the seven members leaped toward the crowd, feeding off fans singing every lyric back to them. The performance showcased a truth the group has with their fans as well and celebrated the road they have traveled together. 

“Thank you for coming to our stage and giving us energy,” SEUNGMO said, “You gave us unforgettable memories.”
